Jordan Ayew: Ghana striker reveals why he joined Leicester City

Leicester City new signing Jordan Ayew has shared the reasons behind his decision to join the club, emphasising the crucial role that manager Steve Cooper played in bringing him on board.The Black Stars striker completed his move from Crystal Palace on Friday, reuniting with Cooper, under whom he previously played at Swansea City."As a player, when you hear that the manager wants you, it just makes you want to come and work under him and to try to improve," Ayew explained after signing a two-year contract. "Even though I’m 32, as a player you always want to learn and improve. I’m here to work hard and help the team achieve their targets."Ayew was a significant figure at Crystal Palace during his six-year stint with the Eagles, but his reduced role under new boss Oliver Glasner opened the door for his move to Leicester. He now aims to assist the Foxes in maintaining their Premier League status.Leicester City returned to the Premier League this season after winning the Championship, following their relegation at the end of the 2022/23 season.
