U-20 Women’s World Cup: Basigi praises Black Princesses’ adaptation to Colombian altitude

Coach Yussif Basigi has praised the Black Princesses for their impressive adaptation to the altitude in Colombia as they prepare for their FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup opener."The players have been responding very well to training, and I am really impressed with their performance," Basigi said."When we first arrived in Colombia, we faced some challenges with the altitude. The players struggled a bit at first, but after a week, they adjusted and were fine."The Black Princesses, who have been in Colombia since August 14, played two key friendlies against South Korea and Mexico, drawing 2-2 and 0-0 respectively. These matches, combined with their acclimatization to the local conditions, have prepared them well for the tournament. He noted that the team’s adjustment was evident in their recent friendly matches. "We played the friendlies and they showed real readiness," Basigi added, highlighting their improved performance and adaptation. The team’s improved form and resilience are promising as they aim to overcome their previous group stage exits and make a strong start in their seventh consecutive World Cup appearance.
