Besiktas General Secretary Kaan Şakul has revealed that Ghanaian defender Daniel Amartey turned down offers from seven different clubs during the summer transfer window.Amartey, who previously played for Leicester City, attracted interest from teams including Al-Shabab from Dubai, with a more lucrative deal on the table than his current contract at Besiktas.Sakul explained that despite an agreement with Al-Shabab and a ticket arranged for his travel, Amartey opted to stay with Besiktas, expressing a preference for a move in January instead."We received seven written offers for Daniel Amartey, including from Al-Shabab. We agreed, and he would have earned more, but he declined at the last minute, saying he didn’t want to play in Dubai," Sakul shared.Other clubs like FC Arouca, Eyüpspor, Al Orobah, Al Kholood, and Al Fahya also showed interest, but none of their offers were accepted.Amartey's contract with Besiktas runs until June 2026, but the 29-year-old has indicated he may reconsider a transfer in January.Amartey was a key player for Leicester City but eventually departed the club after they suffered relegation at the end of the 2022/23 season in the Premier League.
