'There is a legacy to protect' - Mohammed Polo cautions Black Stars players over poor results

Former Black Stars midfielder Mohammed Polo has called on the current Black Stars players to uphold the legacy the country's football legends left behind.His comments come in the wake of Ghana's disappointing start to the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers, with the team recording a draw and a loss in their first two matches.The Black Stars were held to a 1-1 draw by Niger at the Stade Municipal de Berkane in Morocco, adding to their troubles after a 1-0 defeat at home to Angola. This poor run has raised concerns about the team's performance.In an interview with Bryt FM, Polo urged the players to take responsibility and elevate the standards of Ghanaian football.“We should know things are not the way it used to be. We have to change our attitude as a football nation. The current players must know there is a legacy to protect. We left a mark during our playing days and it will be prudent for the current generation to raise and not downgrade it.
