Mohammed Polo warns against high expectations for Black Stars after AFCON qualifier struggles

Former Ghana star Mohammed Polo has urged Ghanaians to temper their expectations of the Black Stars following the team's underwhelming start to the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.The four-time African champions have recorded a loss and a draw in their opening two games, sparking concerns about their current form.Ghana were held to a 1-1 draw by Niger at the Stade Municipal de Berkane in Morocco, further complicating their AFCON campaign. This came after a 1-0 defeat to Angola at the Baba Yara Stadium, where Felicio Milson’s goal secured all three points for the visitors.Polo, speaking in an interview with Bryt FM, emphasized that the perception of Ghana as a dominant force in African football has faded.“Black Stars are in a serious challenge. Ghanaians must admit that football has evolved and there are no minnows anymore.
