Alidu Seidu nets maiden Ghana goal in AFCON qualifier against Niger
France-based defender Alidu Seidu has netted his first goal in a Black Stars jersey to give Ghana the lead in their game against Niger in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in Morocco. The Stade Rennais right-back broke the game's deadlock after firing from the edge of the box after receiving a pass from West Ham United star Mohammed Kudus. It took the 24-year-old his 16th match to score his maiden goal.Having dominated the first half, the Nigeriens were the side to create the most chances, coming close twice through Ghana-born Daniel Sosah.Meanwhile, Seidu was all over the left side, defending and attacking in equal measure as the Black Stars took the game to the Nigeriens.The Black Stars headed to the break with the lead and will be hoping to end the match with victory as Ghana revive their AFCON qualifying campaign.The team lost their opening match in Kumasi to Angola last Thursday, Ghana's first defeat in Kumasi in 24 years.
