GFA reports betting companies for unauthorized use of match data

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has formally reported the conduct of several betting companies to the Gaming Commission, accusing them of unauthorized betting on matches organized and sanctioned by the Association. In its complaint, the GFA highlighted that platforms including Soccabet, Sportybet, Football.com, and Ilobet were involved in offering betting services on Ghana Premier League (GPL) matches without the Association’s approval. The GFA has requested swift action from the Gaming Commission to investigate and halt these activities. The Association emphasized that such unauthorized use of its match data infringes upon its legal rights and violates the GFA’s strict policy against unapproved betting. These activities pose a serious threat to the integrity of Ghanaian football and damage the reputation of the sport.GFA President Kurt Okraku reiterated this position during the 30th Congress in August, where he warned that no betting company has been licensed to offer odds on GPL matches. He further announced plans to empower the Association’s legal team to take action against companies that persist in violating these regulations."We have not licensed any betting company to take odds on our games," the GFA President declared.
