Struggling King Faisal parts ways with head coach Barnabas Awuni
Access Bank Division One League side, King Faisal has announced that it has parted ways with head coach Barnabas Awuni.The decision has been taken just three days after the Kumasi-based club lost 1-0 to Swedru All Blacks at home.The coach had been under immense pressure in the last couple of weeks following a stint of disappointing results in the lower tier league.In a post on X confirming that coach Barnabas Awuni is no longer at post, King Faisal noted that assistant coach Issah Abdallah will take over as acting head coach until a new coach is appointed.“We can confirm that we have mutually parted ways with head coach Barnabas Awuni“Assistant Issah Abdallah has been put in acting capacity until the employment of a new substantive head coach,” King Faisal announced on Tuesday, December 24.King Faisal in the last five matches only managed to win one, drawing another and losing all of its last three games in the Division One League.The club will hope for a swift turnaround of the situation as it aims to gain promotion to the Ghana Premier League at the end of the 2024/25 football season.
