SWAG congratulates President-elect John Mahama on election victory

The Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) has extended its congratulations to President-elect John Dramani Mahama following his victory in Ghana’s December 7 general elections.In a statement signed by SWAG President Kwabena Yeboah, the association described Mahama’s win over New Patriotic Party candidate Dr Mahamudu Bawumia as a pivotal moment for leadership renewal in the country.The association expressed its readiness to collaborate with the incoming administration to promote sports development in Ghana. “President-Elect H.E. John Dramani Mahama demonstrated his commitment to the development and promotion of sports in our dear country by engaging major sports stakeholders, particularly the Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG), during the pre-election period,” the statement noted.SWAG also lauded the peaceful conduct of the elections and commended Vice President Bawumia for his dignified concession, describing it as a testament to Ghana’s democratic maturity.The association looks forward to engaging with the new administration to drive initiatives that enhance sports infrastructure and opportunities in Ghana.
