The Confederation of African Football (CAF) is poised to become debt-free within the next year, a significant turnaround since Patrice Motsepe took over the presidency in 2021.Under Motsepe's leadership, CAF has implemented improved governance and financial management, substantially reducing debt and increasing revenue."I think we will present a [deficit] figure to the Caf congress of less than $12m (£9.3m)," CAF Secretary-General Veron Mosengo-Omba told BBC Sport Africa."For the next fiscal year, [the debt] will be zero."The organization has seen a surge in sponsorships and television viewership for the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), contributing significantly to its financial health.
