The Independent Communications Authority of South Africa has ordered StarSat to stop broadcasting after failing to renew its licence on time
StarSat has vowed to fight Icasa’s decision ordering the platform be shut down, saying it is seeking the necessary licence.
Icasa ordered StarSat to shut down its operations in South Africa by 18 September, but it seems it's still trading.
Employees were praying outside StarSat offices on Wednesday as Icasa officials disconnected the company's infrastructure.
Icasa said StarSat had failed to renew its broadcasting licence.
