The City of Belleville is receiving a large amount of funding for development of housing and housing initiatives. Described as the second largest investment in Belleville's history, $10.5 million dollars was announced on Wednesday by federal Minister of Housing, Infrastructure and Communities Nate Erskine-Smith. This funding is coming through the Housing Accelerator Fund and will assist in the construction of 259 homes over the next three years. Of those, 150 (estimated) will be affordable housing units.
