Hastings County discusses funding applications for homeless shelter initiatives

More discussion is slated to be had on provincial funding applications for long-term homeless shelter initiatives. Hastings County’s Community and Human Services Committee recommended that County Council ratify the action of the CAO approving staff to submit a $562,500 application for the One-Time Shelter Expansion/Encampment Response Initiative Funding. This funding would come under this year’s Homelessness Prevention Program stream. This recommendation would also see a $4.5 million submission for Last Mile Funding under the Canada-Ontario Community Housing Initiative- Ontario Priorities Housing Initiative (COCHI-OPHI) Investment Plan.
