QWYC improving kitchen, flooring thanks to provincial grant

New capital funding has enabled the Quinte West Youth Centre to be improved. Organization executive director Jess Coolen and the QWYC team met with local MPP Todd Smith on Saturday to hear more about a $150,000 capital grant received from the province's Ontario Trillium Foundation. The grant, issued under the Committee for Innovative Thinking Youth, was used to modernize the centre's kitchen and flooring, which simultaneously improves its What's Cooking Program, which provides free meals and snacks to youth members, as well as teaches valuable life skills within the kitchen. “Increased food literacy and meal preparation skills will serve Quinte West...
