CITY HALL – One week left to pay property taxes before penalty is applied

Kamloops property owners have one more week to pay their property taxes before a provincially mandated 10 per cent penalty for late payment is applied on July 3, 2024. Starting today (June 24, 2024), City Hall will be open for extended hours, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., to accommodate in-person tax payments. The City said in a news release that those who choose to visit City Hall should plan ahead and know the detour and parking options, which are outlined on the City’s engagement website at LetsTalk.Kamloops.ca/CapitalProjects/CityCentre. There are several ways to pay property taxes, including paying online with Visa or Mastercard, using online banking, paying by mail, drop box, or in person at the Tournament Capital Centre (8:30 a..m to 3:30 p.m., Monday to Friday). A full list of payment locations and hours is available at Kamloops.ca/PropertyTax. Online payments can be made at Kamloops.ca/Payment. Credit card payments for taxes and utilities are subject to a non-refundable 1.75 per cent  service fee. Both City Hall and the Tournament Capital Centre will be closed on Monday, July 1, for the Canada Day holiday.
