Fatal apartment fire under investigation in Picton

Author's note: This story has been updated from its original version.  One person has died as a result of a fire at 113 West Mary Street in Picton on Friday.  "We extend our condolences to the family of the victim," said Fire Chief Chad Brown.  "It is a sad day for our community with this person perishing suddenly in the fire."  Prince Edward County Fire and Rescue responded to an apartment fire at 113 West Mary Street in Picton at 1:49 p.m. Crews found a room on fire upon entry to the apartment and quickly extinguished the fire.
