Belleville council approves $11.8M for new building at future fairgrounds

The City will spend $11.8 million for the construction of a new event building at the future Belleville Agricultural Society Exhibition site. At its meeting on Monday, council awarded the tender to Bel-Con Design Builders Ltd. for "the scaled-back" 36,400 square foot event space at the new fairgrounds on Black Diamond Road and Highway 37. The Exhibition and Educational Building capital project was approved in the 2022 capital budget for $20.6 million contingent on $8,500,000 in grant funding.
