Belleville man to appear next month regarding speeding in Madoc Township

Failing to stop for police has resulted in several charges against a Belleville man. A Central Hastings OPP officer was on Highway 62 at Public School Road in Madoc Township on Sunday before 6:30 p.m. when a pickup truck was spotted moving at a high rate of speed hearing north on the highway, crossing the centre line and swerving onto the shoulder. The driver was moving at speeds of more than 150 kilometres an hour in an 80 zone when the officer tried to stop the vehicle.
