New aquatic centre breaks ground in September at Strathcona Gardens

A new swimming pool for Campbell River will finally start construction in the beginning of September. That’s going to mean some access and parking changes for pool and arena patrons. The Strathcona Gardens Rec-Reate project is starting phase one, which will build a new aquatic centre in the northwest corner of the Gardens property, currently a parking lot. During construction, the Dogwood Street access will be closed and the parking area closest to Dogwood will be closed for construction crews to use. Construction will take approximately 30 months. The main access will be shifted to Pinecrest Road, and parking space will be limited. The new pool is the first phase of a project which will add a wellness centre, a large fitness centre, and update the ice arenas. Construction updates and more information will be posted regularly on the official project website.  The post New aquatic centre breaks ground in September at Strathcona Gardens appeared first on My Campbell River Now.
