‘Creeks and streams could become dangerous,’ water safety statement issued

Lower Trent Conservation has issued water safety statement, warning creeks and streams could become dangerous amid the rainfall warning. Environment Canada has issued a rainfall warning for Belleville, Quinte West, Northumberland County, Stirling, Madoc, Tweed, Tamworth, Bancroft,  Prince Edward County, Napanee and Kingston.  The warning issued Thursday said rainfall amounts of 50 to 75 mm or higher are possible. Lower Trent's statement is for creeks and streams within the Lower Trent Watershed region stretching from Grafton to Quinte West and from Lake Ontario to Rice Lake and east to Centre Hastings.
