Prince Edward County to reapply for federal housing funding

Prince Edward County will seek to secure up to $9.6 million from the federal government for housing initiatives. At its meeting Tuesday night, council gave the green light to the County's housing corporation to reapply for funding through the Housing Accelerator Fund. The County was denied $14.2 million in funding during round one of the program earlier this year. Elis Ziegler, Affordable Housing Supervisor says the County's $9.6 million ask will span seven initiatives including meeting the 10 per cent target of affordable housing supply growth representing 1,300 projected units.
