A child has died after being struck by a vehicle in Tweed. Members of the Central Hastings Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Tweed Firefighters and Hastings Quinte Paramedics were called to the scene on Jamieson Street West shortly after 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, September 1, 2024. An off-duty nurse and others attempted life-saving measures, but the victim, a six-year-old girl, was pronounced deceased after being rushed to hospital. The name of the victim will not be released.
