Trent Hills man charged with impaired boating

Don't drink and boat. That's the message a Trent Hills man learned after Quinte West OPP conducted marine patrol on the Trent River on Sunday around 4:00 p.m. Officers spoke with four occupants on board a 17-foot metal hulled boat and saw several open cans of liquor -- safety checks were performed and the operator could not produce a buoyant heaving line or a waterproof flashlight and there were no lifejackets on board. After an investigation and testing, the operator -- a 28-year-old Trent Hills man -- faces charges of operation while impaired with a blood alcohol level of 80...
