The process of filling the seat formerly occupied by Councillor Tyler Allsopp has begun at Belleville City Hall. Council voted on Monday to formally declare the seat vacant after Allsopp won the Bay of Quinte Provincial by-election for the PC party last week. Mayor Neil Ellis then requested a staff report to be presented at the next Council meeting in October. It will include the process for appointing the "next in line" from the municipal election in 2022.
