Michael Grenier today (Sept. 13, 2024) officially withdrew as a candidate for the Cariboo-Chilcotin riding in the Oct. 19 election. He had been nominated to represent BC United in the election. Here’s his statement: Dear Friends, Following recent decisions of BC United Party leadership, and after careful consideration with my campaign team and fellow BCU candidates, I’ve made the difficult decision to withdraw my candidacy for the Cariboo-Chilcotin riding in the upcoming Provincial election. I’m deeply grateful for your enthusiastic support and for sharing our campaign with family and friends. I especially want to acknowledge the tireless efforts of my wife Doreen, our family, and our Chair Alp Isin, who built remarkable momentum in a short time. Connecting with constituents at community events and on their doorsteps has been a privilege. Thank you for sharing the issues that matter most to your families. I’m also thankful for the encouragement of my friends, MLAs Todd Stone, Peter Milobar, Jackie Tegart, Coralee Oakes and Shirley Bond, and fellow TNRD Director Dough Haughton.
