Belleville Police Service launches Military Veteran Wellness program

The Belleville Police Service is launching a ground-breaking initiative in the City that is aimed at providing critical support to military veterans in our community. The Military Veterans Wellness Program was developed by the Toronto Police Military Veterans Association, Royal Canadian Legion, Veterans Affairs Canada, and the Operational Stress Injury Social Support program.  It was launched in the summer of 2022 and endorsed by Solicitor General Michael Kerzner, Ministry of the Solicitor General, the MVWP in an effort to equip frontline officers with the necessary awareness and training to better recognize and understand military veterans’ issues. “Our service recognizes the sacrifices...
