Nysc Ondo celebrates Cultural Carnival in grandstyle

In bid to further project the richness of Nigeria cultural heritage, the National Youth Service Corps, Ondo State, on Saturday celebrated its Cultural Carrnival at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Ikare-Akoko. Nigeria, according to the State Coordinator of the Scheme in the State, Mr. Sam Amaramiro Pepple is abundantly endowed and blessed with diverse culture and heritage. He said that NYSC is the unifying national factor that has been harnessing the richness to build national cultural edifice. Pepple highlighted the importance of cultural inclusiveness, pressing on the need to take advantage of the country multi-cultural diversity, saying that the carnival depicted the core objective of the NYSC scheme, which is to foster national unity. The Coordinator called on the Nigerian youths to place premium on the values that project the pride of the motherland, encouraging them to co-habit by promoting their traditional values with pride and candour. He also urged them to always stay connected to their cultural roots despite Western influences and enjoined them to go about the carnival with the utmost sense of decency.Meanwhile, the Cultural Dance and Drama competitions came to a  colourful conclusion as the overall results were announced. The carnival showcased the diversity of Nigerian cultures through vibrant representation performances by the various platoons.In drama, number 3 platoon  clinched the top spot for their outstanding performance, followed closely by number 10 platoon, which came second while number 9 platoon secured the third position.On the other hand, number 8 platoon took first place in the cultural dance competition. Number 7 platoon followed in second position while number 5 platoon settled for third place.The event also featured the Carnival Competitions, where platoons competed based on their overall presentations and cultural display. In this category, number 7 Platoon emerged victorious, earning the highest score for their depiction of Hausa/Fulani culture. Number 8 platoon worked vigorously and won second place with their vibrant portray of the Igala culture, while number 9 platoon rounded off the top three with a strong showing of the Ijaw culture.It is worthy to note that the carnival brought together all the platoons together for a superlative celebration of cultural unity and the event reinforced the importance of national integration and cultural pride. PEPPLE, ONDO COORDINATOR RECEIVES AWARD OF EXCELLENCE The Young Ambassadors of Northern Nigeria (YAN) has recognised and acknowledged the immense contributions of the Ondo State Coordinator, Mr Sam Amaramiro Pepple, for his untiring roles of building future leaders who can stall tall in any position of authority in a foreseeable future.The Award of Excellence, which designated the unassuming administrator as the 'NYSC State Coordinator of the Year', according to the president of the organisation, Ambassador Tijani Abdulmumini was in recognition of Pepple's unwavering dedication to nation-building, human capital development and outstanding leadership qualities. The YAN President lauded the contributions of Mr. Pepple for the outstanding breakthrough and qualitative mentoring of graduate youths for the overall growth and development of Nigeria, especially with the success story of the Scheme's in Ondo State under his watch where his visionary leadership have significantly impacted the lives of young Nigerians.Abdulmumini extolled the NYSC Ondo Chief Executive Officer for being a guiding force in the development of Nigeria’s youth, emphasising that the award was a reflection of what he stood for as a detribalised Nigerian.“Mr. Sam Pepple has demonstrated exemplary leadership, not only in Ondo State but across the nation. His contributions to human capital development through the NYSC Scheme are commendable, and he continues to inspire many young Nigerians to reach their full potential. It is, therefore, an honour to recognise such an outstanding and selfless personality and confer on him, award of excellence" the ambassador remarked.In addition to receiving the prestigious award, Mr. Pepple was officially inducted into the YAN Hall of Fame, a recognition reserved for exceptional individuals who have made significant strides in shaping the future of Nigeria.In his acceptance speech, Mr. Sam Pepple, who was surprised at the honour bestowed upon him, expressed deep gratitude to the leadership of YAN for the recognition. He dedicated the award to the NYSC big family, as well as corps members who have worked tirelessly alongside him at promoting the NYSC's mission of fostering national unity and development.The NYSC Ondo State boss reiterated the importance of collaboration in nation-building while acknowledging the fact that the work of developing a country as diverse as Nigeria is challenging but rewarding.“I am deeply honoured and humbled by this recognition. The job of building Nigeria is not an easy one, and it requires the collective devotion of every Nigerian. This award is a testimony to the hard work of my team, the corps members, and everyone who believes in the potential of our youths to drive the future of this great nation" Pepple stated.Sam Pepple's leadership at the NYSC Ondo State has been marked by significant achievements, including initiatives aimed at empowering a good number of corps members with skills and knowledge for personal and professional growth.Under his guidance, numerous programmes centred on capacity building, entrepreneurship and nation-building have flourished, leaving a lasting impact on both the corps members and the communities they serve.
