Google's AI Expertise Is Used To Develop Technology That Can "Listen" To Diseases

Google was recently reported to be working with Salcit Technologies, an AI technology company from India that focuses on the detection of respiratory-related diseases. There is no denying that the benefits of AI are more than creating images, videos and audio from the work of others, and Google is now using their audio language model, Google Heath Acoustics Representations (HeAR) to detect different types of coughs, sneezes and breathing. The technology being developed, called Swaasa, allows doctors to more easily detect the type of respiratory-related illness they are dealing with. Diseases such as fever, COVID-19, Influenza, Tuberculosis and so on can be detected quickly and allow doctors to give the necessary medicine as soon as possible. The technology being developed can be loaded into a smart device, allowing it to be used by any doctor no matter where they are. This technology seems to be still in the development phase, but the Indian government seems to want the development of this technology to be prioritized so that they can achieve zero TB cases by 2030.
