Japan Will Build Supercomputer 1000 Times More Powerful Than Current Supercomputers

The holder of the throne of the world's most powerful supercomputer is held by Frontier with processing capabilities reaching the level of exaFLOPS. Although the ability of exaFLOPS was only achieved last year, Japan has already begun the process of building a supercomputer with the processing ability to reach the level of zetaFLOPS, which is 1000 times more powerful.The Fukagu Next supercomputer is currently in the planning process and it is expected to start operations in 2030. The Japanese government approved the Fugaku Next project to reclaim the throne of the world's supercomputer that they held for 3 years through Fugaku in 2020. Fugaku Next will ensure that Japan continues to remain in development scientific research using AI.The project will cost ¥110 billion (RM 3.37 billion) and it will be developed by Fujitsu and the RIKEN Computer Science Center. Information about the architecture that will be used has yet to be announced at this time.
