Second pair of illegally released animals safely captured in Cairngorms after they were spotted on camera traps

Police received a report of two big cats seen in the Dell of Killiehuntly area near Kingussie on Friday.

Staff from wildlife conservation charity RZSS humanely trapped the cats on Thursday.

Specially trained staff trapped the big cats overnight after people were warned to stay away from the area.

Two lynx were picked up on a wildlife camera on Friday morning.

Lynx to Scotland said the release of the animals was counter-productive to efforts to restore numbers in the Highlands.
