Influencers “Taste” Indonesia Ahead of WOW Indonesia! Festival in Washington DC

Washington, DC (VOA) — The audience filled the hall of the Indonesian Embassy in Washington DC with gasps of admiration and applause, Tuesday (13/8), when they succeeded in playing a song using the angklung together. One of them is Saumya Shiohare, influencer aka an Indian-descended influencer from Washington DC, who was invited to the Indonesian Embassy event to “taste” the taste of Indonesia before the WOW Indonesia! Festival 2024 is held in the American capital on August 25. Saumya Shiohare, a lifestyle influencer in Washington DC, was very impressed by the angklung music performance (VOA Indonesia) “I enjoyed the music performance (angklung), because it was something new, we all learned, and everyone participated, it was really cool. As for the food, I tried satay and a rice dish with tempeh which tasted really good,” he said. Saumya, who was exposed to Indonesian culture for the first time, couldn't wait to visit Indonesia. “Bali is on my list, so I know where to go first at least,” he said.
