Brazil's telecommunications authority announced Friday that it would block access to Elon Musk's social network X in the country, following a judge's order following a months-long feud between law enforcement and the billionaire over disinformation in Brazil. The move comes after the popular social media platform missed a court-ordered deadline to appoint legal representation in Brazil. X was still accessible in Brazil as of Friday evening local time. The dispute also resulted in the freezing of the bank accounts of Musk-led SpaceX's satellite internet provider Starlink in Brazil earlier this week. In his ruling, Moraes ordered that X, formerly known as Twitter, be suspended in Brazil until all court orders are complied with, including payment of a fine of more than $3 million and the appointment of a local representative in accordance with Brazilian law.
