Ukraine Claims Successful Attack on Russian Ammunition Depot

Kyiv claimed on Saturday (7/9) that it had successfully struck an ammunition depot in Russia's border with Ukraine, where a large fire broke out overnight following a drone attack. The governor of Russia's Voronezh region reported that debris from the crashed drone caused a fire and a series of explosions. He also ordered the evacuation of nearby settlements. Alexander Gusev wrote on Telegram that Russian anti-air defense systems “detected and neutralized a drone” on Saturday (September 7) morning over the western region, less than 150 kilometers from Ukraine. Gusev reported that “no one was injured” in the incident. However, when the drone crashed, a large fire spread to the explosive device and caused it to explode. Gusev did not provide details about the facilities affected by the fire and explosion.
