Ukraine seeks solid guarantees on military assistance from NATO ahead of the NATO summit in Washington on July 9-11. Ukraine's Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic integration said this on the air of the national TV marathon, according to Ukrinform. "For the NATO summit, we are working to ensure that the financial position on military assistance is guaranteed, so that we do not depend on political processes in the United States or in another country among the allies. Separate decisions [are to be made] on air defence," Stefanishyna explained. She added that several essential achievements on this path have been made as Germany, Italy, and the United States have announced additional Patriot systems for Ukraine. Previously, Lithuania vowed to advocate for Ukraine's NATO membership at the summit in Washington. Meanwhile, Latvia issued an official statement, calling on the alliance members to invite Ukraine to join it at the summit.
