Canada Allocates Nearly $40 Million in Humanitarian Aid to Ukraine

The Government of Canada has allocated over 51 million Canadian dollars (approximately $39 million USD) to support humanitarian projects in Ukraine, following the visit of Randeep Sarai, UATV English reports. According to Canada’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the funding is aimed at addressing urgent humanitarian needs while also supporting long-term recovery and reforms. “The Secretary of State announced $51.1 million in funding to help Ukraine respond to immediate humanitarian needs, while also contributing to long-term recovery and reform efforts,” the statement said. The funds will be used to provide medical care, food, and housing, as well as to strengthen Ukraine’s capacity to deliver inclusive public services and support veterans. “Canada remains steadfast in its support for Ukraine not only during the war with Russia, but also in its future recovery. By working with Ukrainian leaders, regional partners in Poland, civil society, and the private sector, we are helping lay the foundation for a resilient, strong, and inclusive Ukraine,” Sarai stated. Support for Ukraine’s energy resilience initiatives was also a key topic during his visit. Since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion, Canada has provided Ukraine with more than $19 billion USD in various forms of assistance, reaffirming its long-term commitment to Ukraine’s security and recovery.
