The Safeguarding Unit of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has begun intensive safeguarding training for participants in the ongoing GFA License D Coaching Course.This training is a key requirement for certification.Obed Tuffour, the GFA Safeguarding Officer, led the session, focusing on educating participants about the GFA's commitment to ensuring that all children and young players can engage in football within an environment free from harm or abuse.The first of many sessions was held at Opoku-Ware Senior High School, targeting coaches from Women’s Division One League Clubs and Colts Clubs in the Ashanti Region.The training emphasised the importance of creating a safe and supportive environment for children, young players, and vulnerable individuals to thrive in their football careers.This safeguarding training will continue across various venues, reaching Women’s Division One League and Colts club coaches in different football regions.The sessions at the Regional Football Associations are scheduled to run from August 13 to September 4, 2024.
