Ghanaian teen John Batigi scores twice as FC Van maul Gandzasar in Armenia

Ghanaian teen sensation John Batigi got his first goals for FC Van in the Armenian Premier League on Friday when they walloped FC Gandzasar in a round three fixture.The former Ghana U17 midfielder scored twice to inspire his club as they claimed a resounding 6-1 victory in the end at the Charentsavan City Stadium.Armenia international midfielder Karen Nalbandyan opened the scoring of the match within four minutes after kick-off.Nigerian forward Jesse Akila doubled the advantage for Van in the 17th minutes before Batigi netted his first goal to increase the tally a few moments later.Defender Vahe Muradyan pulled back for Gandzasar after thirty minutes, but Batigi scored again to restore the three-goal cushion five minutes from the interval.Guinean forward Adama Diallo also got on the scoresheet before Nalbandyan got his second goal of the game after converting a penalty kick in the 78th minute to seal the massive win.Batigi has now scored two goals after just three matches into the 2024-25 campaign in the Armenian top-flight.
