GFA boss Kurt Okraku denies referee control allegations

Ghana Football Association President Kurt Okraku has vehemently denied allegations of influencing referees. The claims, which have persisted over the past few seasons, have been dismissed as "completely false" by the football administrator.Okraku made the denial during a press conference in Sunyani, reaffirming his administration's commitment to the development of Ghanaian football."The claim that the GFA or myself control or have interest in some referees is completely false and must be disregarded. It's just a creation of a non-existent theory," Okraku said on Friday in Suyani. This latest development comes amid ongoing discussions about the integrity of the game in Ghana.Meanwhile, Okraku has outlined plans to elevate the national Division One League by securing television coverage. This move is part of a broader strategy to enhance the league's visibility and commercial appeal.Okraku's emphasis on improving the Division One League aligns with his administration's focus on grassroots development.“The vision of the Executive Council of the GFA is to put the National Division One League on TV. We are working extremely hard towards achieving that,” Okraku stated on Friday during a meeting with the press.
