Gvardiol believes Mohammed Kudus deserves spotlight following breakout PL campaign

Manchester City defender Josko Gvardiol believes Mohammed Kudus has done enough to earn recognition following the latter's exploits in the English Premier League with West Ham United.The Ghana star completed a move from Ajax Amsterdam joining the Hammers in August 2023. While many predicted a difficult first season, the former Norsdjaelland midfielder took the competition by storm and eventually became one of the key players under David Moyes.Gvardiol himself confessed his struggles when he first the 24-year-old and admitted his qualities were enough to gain attention.“I think he is the one who deserves attention, and I believe this season he’s going to come out and show his quality,” the former RB Leipzig defender said.In his debut season, the Ghana star scored eight goals and assisted his teammates six times in 33 appearances in the English top flight.Mohammed Kudus will be hoping to translate his qualities onto the national team as Ghana prepare to face Angola and Niger in the 20255 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.Ghana will face the Palacas Negras on Thursday, September 5, 2024 before travelling to Berkane, Morocco to face Niger on neutral grounds.
