Ghanaian prodigy Eugene Amankwah earns promotion to Aalborg BK first team
Ghanaian youngster Eugene Amankwah has secured a permanent spot on the Aalborg BK (AaB) first team roster after impressing during the preseason.The 19-year-old's strong performances earned him a promotion from the AaB Academy.Amankwah joined the AaB Academy just 11 months ago and has been consistently training with the first team as part of a transitional group.His adaptability shone through as he played on both the left and right sides of defence during preseason preparations.Amankwah's talent has already been recognized by the Ghanaian national team, where he's garnered five international caps.AaB sporting director James Gow commended Amankwah's progress: "Both Amar and Eugene are developing well and during our preseason both players have taken their chance and shown they have the ability and mentality to compete at this level. Therefore, it is natural for them to take the next step now."Eugene Amankwah will wear the number 35 jersey for AaB and has signed a contract that extends until 2028.Notably, nine out of the 23 players in the first team hail from AaB's youth development system, highlighting the club's commitment to nurturing young talent.
