Black Stars captain Andre Ayew calls for support for young players in national team

Ghana's national team captain, Andre Ayew, urged Ghanaians to rally behind the young players currently in the Black Stars squad.During a lecture on sports psychology at the University of Ghana, Ayew highlighted the challenges faced by these young athletes who began their careers abroad."We have a young squad who are now understanding what it means to play for the team," Ayew said. "They started playing abroad at a young age, unlike the old generation who came through the local league. They tend to cope more with what they're experiencing abroad. So coming back to Ghana to readapt to our culture and values is not easy."Ayew believes that strong support from Ghanaians is crucial in helping these young players fully grasp the significance of representing the country."Psychologically, everybody needs to understand what Ghana means, what Ghana football means to the people," he explained."The young ones would need more support to be able to focus on what playing for the country means."The Black Stars captain expressed optimism that with top performances from the young players, the perceived lack of passion within the team will be addressed.Ghana will return to action in September when the qualifiers...
