Black Princesses coach Yussif Basigi believes the early arrival of the team to Colombia will help the players acclimatize to the weather condition in Bogota. The Ghana U20 women's team received a warm welcome from the Colombia Police following their arrival last week."When we came for the draw few months ago, they assured us we will enjoy the World Cup in Colombia. Our arrival was clear indication that we will enjoy it because we were warmly welcomed and entertained by the Policia at the airport so it means the town folks will make us enjoy the tournament," he told the Ghana FA.The Black Princesses have already started training ahead of the start of the tournament on August 31, 2024.According to Basigi, the weather has been unfriendly but the players are gradually getting accustomed to it."To the Colombians, they will say the weather is normal but to us it’s quite cold, not too cold but manageable," he said."The altitude here is not friendly so after a long journey, we didn’t do intensive training and it was a shakeup session and we will gradually acclimatize.
