FC Nurnberg sweat over interim captain Gyamerah's back issues

FC Nurnberg face a defensive headache as interim captain Jan Gyamerah misses pre-season training due to back problems. The German-born Ghanaian defender, a regular starter and key figure for the club has been struggling since the season finale against HSV.Manager Miroslav Klose downplayed the severity of the injury, explaining to Bild,  "It's a back issue. He experienced discomfort during the last game of the season against HSV.""The nerve needs to learn to relax again. It reacts to stress, which is visible. However, we've clarified everything, and he's progressing well," he added.Gyamerah was a rock for FC Nürnberg last season, featuring in 28 matches and contributing directly to four goals. With the new season approaching and their opening game against Karlsruher SC scheduled for early August, the club are eager for his swift return.
