Ghana defender Alexander Djiku opens up on competition for places in Jose Mourinho's Fenerbahce

Black Stars defender Alexander Djiku has disclosed that competition for places in the Fenerbahce has increased following the arrival of Portuguese manager Jose Mourinho. The Ghana international is expected to start Mourinho's first competitive game since taking over as Fenerbahce coach in the UEFA Champions League qualifier against Lugano on Tuesday night.Djiku has been one of the consistent players for the ex-Chelsea manager during pre-season, featuring in most of the games including the thumping victory over Hull City. The versatile defender has often been deployed as a midfielder in the friendlies.''As you know, Fenerbahçe is a very big team, and of course, there are big players in such a team, which increases competition and benefits the team. Not only the players in the defense zone but also our players in all positions, everyone is trying to show their best so that Fenerbahçe can get to good places," he said in the pre-match presser.Djiku joined the Turkish giants last summer from French outfit Strasbourg, helping the club finish second, losing the title to rivals Galatasaray by just three points.
