Midfielder Akwasi Sarpong chooses Samartex over other clubs

Samartex FC have strengthened their squad with the acquisition of young midfielder, Akwasi Sarpong.The 20-year-old has signed a three-year deal with the reigning Ghana Premier League champions after impressing at Division One League side, Skyy FC.Sarpong revealed that he turned down offers from other clubs to join Samartex due to the club's ambitious project."It's sheer bliss to join the Timber Giants family as a youngster, looking at what the club stands for," he said."A lot of clubs were after me but the project of FC Samartex endeared me to join."As Samartex prepare to defend their league title and embark on their maiden CAF Champions League campaign, the addition of Sarpong is seen as a significant boost to their squad.The club are currently undergoing preseason training at Safari Valley in the Eastern Region, where they are also preparing for their preliminary round clash against Cameroon's Victoria United FC.
