Quinte West is putting postsecondary education at the forefront with the approval of a resolution on Wednesday. City Council put a resolution forward supporting Loyalist College to provincial and federal governments, following recent cuts to programming and staffing. This follows a deputation at a meeting last month from Loyalist president/CEO Mark Kirkpatrick and similar presentations at Prince Edward County and Hastings County Council meetings. The resolution includes advocacy against recent reforms to the international student program and reduced tuition fees.
