PEC urging caution during heat wave

Prince Edward County officials are urging people to use caution and take steps to beat the heat this week. Environment Canada has issued a heat warning for the County of Prince Edward starting Monday, June 17, and continuing through the rest of the week. Maximum temperatures are expected to reach between 30 C to 35 C. Minimum temperatures are forecast between 18 C to 23 C. Environment Canada issues heat warnings when very high temperature or humidity conditions are expected to pose an elevated risk of heat illnesses, such as heat stroke or heat exhaustion.
