New boardwalk on Tzouhalem aims to enhance safety and accessibility

A trail on Mount Tzouhalem will see some upgrades starting next year. The Cowichan Trail Stewardship Society says that they were chosen to receive $10,000 from the Outdoor Recreation Council of BC. The funds will go towards construction of a new 70-meter boardwalk over an existing section of “Cross Trail” on Tzouhalem. The CTSS says that the boardwalk will protect the surrounding wetland and increase safety and accessibility for hikers. Construction on the new boardwalk starts this winter and is set to be completed by March of next year.
