UPDATE - Highway 33 north of 401 reopened in Quinte West

A single-vehicle crash closed a section of Highway 33 north of the 401 in Quinte West for several hours on Tuesday. Quinte West Fire Chief John Whelan says a vehicle struck a hydro pole around 11:30 am near Locke Road. Two people were taken to the hospital with what are believed to be minor injuries. The pole had to be repaired and there were wires across the road so it was closed for a number of hours. They cleared the scene and reopened the road at 3:30 pm. No word yet on possible charges. ...
