Federal investment to help Indigenous youth get their wings

The federal government is investing $4.5 million in the First Nations Technical Institute on the Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory to create new opportunities for Indigenous youth who dream of an aviation career. The funding announcement was made Tuesday by Filomena Tassi, the minister responsible for the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario.  The funding will help FNTI, an Indigenous-owned and governed educational institution, expand its aerospace training programs and acquire new specialized equipment to enhance the aerospace ecosystem for Indigenous communities.  It will support a new helicopter training program and increase the participation of women and First Nations, Inuit and...
